Overview

The Patient Care Assistant I works under the direction of licensed personnel to assist patients with daily living activities and monitor vital signs, contributing to the mission of providing exceptional patient care.

• Assists patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, and eating.
• Monitors and records vital signs including temperature, blood pressure, and pulse.
• Completes required documentation in medical records.
• Interacts effectively with patients and their families.

• Listens to and reports health concerns to nursing staff.
• Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred certifications include BLS, Certified Medical Assistant, or Nursing Assistant.
• 1-2 years of experience in patient care or elder care preferred.
• Proficient computer skills for electronic medical records.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
• BLS Certification preferred.
• Experience in patient care/elder care (1-2 years preferred).
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Strong patient/customer service skills.
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
• Proficient in electronic medical records.
