Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant - Plastic Surgery - Remote

Overview

The Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) will support the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the Massachusetts General Hospital, providing high-quality patient care under the supervision of the Division Chief and Sr. Administrative Manager.

In Short

• Full-time position with 4-10 hour shifts, Monday to Friday.
• Coordinates and performs patient assessments and treatment.
• Obtains patient histories and performs physical examinations.
• Orders diagnostic tests and coordinates consultations.
• Implements treatment plans and provides patient education.
• Evaluates follow-up patients and manages pre- and post-operative care.
• Completes necessary paperwork and billing for services.
• Serves as an information resource for patients.
• Requires 2-3 years of surgical or orthopedic experience.
• Must have a Master's degree in Nursing or be a Certified Physician Assistant.

Requirements

• Master's Degree in Nursing required.
• 2 years of licensed nurse practitioner experience required.
• Registered Nurse (RN) license preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred.
• Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license preferred.
• Skilled in taking medical histories and assessing medical conditions.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients and medical staff.
• Ability to maintain quality control standards.
• Ability to react calmly in emergency situations.
• Ability to interpret and apply guidelines and procedures.
