Mental Health Technician - Short Term - Remote

Overview

The Mental Health Technician provides direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, contributing to therapeutic environments and assisting patients with their daily needs.

In Short

• Assist RN in providing direct patient care.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient observations.
• Establish therapeutic relationships with patients.
• Participate in patient rounds and team meetings.
• Identify and de-escalate crisis situations.
• Communicate changes in patient status to RN.
• Assist patients with daily living activities.
• Participate in maintaining a safe unit environment.
• Complete mandatory in-service training.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• One year of clinical experience, preferably in a psychiatric setting.
• Experience in direct patient care preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Must pass Epic training within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to work collaboratively with others.
