Overview

The Mental Health Specialist provides direct care to patients within the inpatient psychiatric units at MGB Salem Hospital, focusing on effective mental health interventions and patient recovery.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent; 5+ years of experience may substitute.
• Bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Health or Human Services preferred.
• Completion of restraint and de-escalation training within 30 days of hire.
• Successful completion of AVADE Training required.
• Ability to manage agitated patients effectively.
• Experience in a psychiatric setting is beneficial.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
