Overview

The Medical Assistant for the Vascular Access Nursing Team provides direct and indirect service for inpatients, working with the interdisciplinary health team to deliver healthcare in the inpatient units.

In Short

• Full-time position, 40 hours per week.
• Works under the direction of the Nursing Director.
• Provides clinical, administrative, and technical support functions.
• Assists with patient data and specimen collection.
• Engages in collaborative communication with healthcare team members.
• Maintains confidentiality and privacy in accordance with HIPAA.
• Performs routine PICC site checks and dressing changes.
• Participates in Universal Time Out protocol for patient safety.
• Assists with clinical audits and drafting staff meeting minutes.
• Maintains supply of department-specific forms and manages calendar.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant program or equivalent.
• Current certification as a Medical Assistant.
• Preferred: recent experience in clinical patient care.
• Basic understanding of Epic reports.
• Knowledge of scanning procedures and label printing.
