Overview

The Donor Program Technician is responsible for performing donor registration, screenings, blood collection, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards in a medical environment.

In Short

  • Perform donor registration and screenings.
  • Conduct medical history and physical examinations.
  • Collect whole blood and perform therapeutic phlebotomies.
  • Maintain donor identification and documentation.
  • Assist in maintaining inventory for the Donor Center.
  • Work at mobile blood drives as needed.
  • Follow safety and infection control policies.
  • Provide excellent customer service to donors.
  • Document quality control measures regularly.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment with flexibility in scheduling.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Medical Assistant with phlebotomy experience or Phlebotomist training.
  • Experience working in a blood donor center is desirable.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
  • Basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends.
  • Bilingual skills are a plus.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing 10-50 pounds.
