Clinical Social Worker - Per Diem - Addiction, ED & Med/Surg - Remote

Overview

The Clinical Social Worker for the Emergency Department and Inpatient Medicine and Surgery is responsible for providing bio-psychosocial assessments and interventions for patients and families affected by acute medical needs and psychosocial factors. This role is essential in helping the interdisciplinary team understand and address the psychosocial barriers impacting patient care.

In Short

• Conduct bio-psychosocial assessments for patients in the ED and inpatient settings.
• Provide emotional support and resources for patients and families.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to address psychosocial factors affecting care.
• Document all interactions in the patient’s electronic medical record.
• Participate in departmental and hospital committees.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA and confidentiality standards.
• Facilitate access to community resources for patients.
• Engage in clinical supervision and educational seminars.
• Conduct family systems work when necessary.
• Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Social Work or related field required.
• Clinical experience in a medical setting preferred.
• Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or equivalent preferred.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Strong crisis intervention and conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively and independently.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of community resources and aging process.
• Understanding of substance use disorders and psychiatric illness.
• Commitment to patient confidentiality and ethical standards.
