Medical Record Abstractor - Remote

Overview

WiredPeople is seeking to hire a Medical Record Abstractor to help support the Florida Violent Death Reporting System in Florida. The Data Abstractor will work directly within our current team of 3 Data Abstractors within the FLVDRS team. This position will be full-time, up to 40 hours a week and our ideal candidate must be located within the state of Florida.

In Short

• Complete database registration and identity proofing processes within five business days.
• Abstract, edit, and enter violent death case information with 95% accuracy.
• Report progress and barriers to the Department Program Manager.
• Submit a weekly narrative detailing hours worked and cases abstracted.
• Assist in maintaining real-time tracking sheets for abstracted records.
• Ensure an average of at least 35 cases abstracted per week.
• Participate in monthly CDC NVDRS workgroup calls.
• Attend bi-weekly program staff meetings via Teams.

Requirements

• Ability to perform data entry with high accuracy.
• Experience in a Public Health related capacity.
• Ability to review reports and synthesize information.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Capacity to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
• Ability to organize data into logical formats for presentations.
