Medical Records Clerk - Remote

Overview

Ansible Government Solutions, LLC (Ansible) is currently recruiting for Medical Records Clerks to support the USCG National Maritime Center (NMC) located at National Maritime Center located at 100 Forbes Avenue, Martinsburg WV 25404. The mission of the NMC is to issue Merchant Mariner Medical Certificates to fully qualified U.S. merchant mariners. A key component of the Mariner Credentialing Program (MCP) is the Medical Evaluation Division, staffed by Physicians, Physician Assistants, Certified Medical Assistants, and Medical Clerks who review and assess applications for a mariner Medical Certificate. The Medical Certificate is a document that serves as proof that a mariner meets the required medical and physical standards. The schedule is Monday through Friday, full time. Some telework may occur at the direction of the Program Manager.

In Short

• Receives applications and additional information for the Medical Division of the NMC.
• Creates electronic applications or updates mariner demographic information.
• General in-processing of files.
• Communicates with applicants and medical providers via phone, mail, or email.
• Documents information in the Merchant Mariner Licensing and Documentation (MMLD) database.
• Assigns files for medical screening and evaluation.
• Cross-trained for data entry and information management.
• Prepares files for screening and evaluation using electronic tools.
• Tracks applications electronically using MMLD.
• Sorts, files, and delivers mail consisting of applicant information.

Requirements

• 6 months of Medical Records Clerk experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Outlook, Word, Excel, and Access.
