In Short

• Serve as the onsite team Site Health & Safety Officer for various civil, HTRW, and other USACE projects.
• Work with the Superintendent to deliver effective daily safety talks.
• Generate and ensure all project documentation is maintained and available onsite.
• Ensure all personnel have the appropriate safety and health training.
• Provide effective coaching regarding safety matters.
• Develop and review Accident Prevention Plans and Health and Safety Plans.
• Monitor assigned projects for compliance with Health & Safety plans.
• Perform Health & Safety reviews and facilitate required safety training.
• Manage and direct incident/mishap reporting and investigations.
• Coordinate and provide technical support regarding safety program requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, plus minimum of 5 years construction safety experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Experience in a safety role (Safety officer, safety coordinator, etc.).
• Direct experience supporting high risk work such as excavation and construction.
• Experience in environmental investigations or similar HTRW projects.
• Working knowledge of USACE EM 385-1-1.
• Familiarity with Accident Prevention Plans and Site Safety & Health Plans.
• Delivering training and preparing training content.
• OSHA Construction Safety (30 hr) training within last 5 years.
• 40 Hour HAZWOPER and 8 Hour HAZWOPER site supervisor training.
