Overview

The Portuguese (Brazil) Linguist performs quality control tasks and on-demand translation tasks, coordinating a group of translators and ensuring high standards of work within specified deadlines.

In Short

• Perform copy-editing tasks on assigned projects.
• Conduct on-demand translation tasks.
• Take ownership of deliveries translated internally or by freelancers.
• Prepare and maintain language materials to quality standards.
• Manage project-related queries.
• Coordinate a team of freelancers on projects.
• Test and qualify new freelancers and vendors.
• Develop and train internal linguists and freelancers.

Requirements

• University degree in Translation/Applied Languages or equivalent.
• 4+ years of experience in translation/localization.
• Fluent in English and native in Brazilian Portuguese.
• Thorough understanding of the localization process.
• Excellent user experience with Windows, Office, and CAT tools.
• Ability to learn new localization tools quickly.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines.
• Experience in training and teaching others.
• Ability to work in a virtual team.
