Medical Scribe - Remote

Overview

The purpose of a Medical Scribe at Oak Street Health is to support our primary care providers with clinical documentation so that they can focus on providing exceptional care to our patients.

In Short

• Documenting patient encounters in real time.
• Joining providers in the exam room to observe and document visits.
• Assigning appropriate CPT and ICD-10 codes.
• Consulting with providers for accurate documentation.
• Preparing After Visit Summaries.
• Supporting Daily Huddles and Clinical Documentation Reviews.
• Providing administrative support for the care team.

Requirements

• Knowledge of medical terminology and common medications.
• Prior clinical experience preferred.
• Advanced listening and communication skills.
• Strong computer literacy.
• Fluency in additional languages preferred.
• Ability to type 70+ words per minute preferred.
• Must be a self-starter and team player.
• Excellent job attendance required.
• Compliance with hospital policies including HIPAA.
• US work authorization required.
