Overview

The Medical Scribe at Oak Street Health supports primary care providers with clinical documentation, allowing them to focus on providing exceptional patient care.

In Short

• Document patient encounters in real time.
• Assist providers throughout the patient care journey.
• Become an expert in value-based care and chronic conditions.
• Receive extensive on-the-job training.
• Commit to at least 1-2 years in the role.
• Work approximately 40-45 hours per week.
• Support clinical documentation improvement.
• Collaborate with a team in a clinical setting.
• Utilize medical coding knowledge (CPT and ICD-10).
• Opportunity for pre-med track individuals to gain experience.

Requirements

• Knowledge of medical terminology and common medications.
• Prior clinical experience preferred.
• Advanced listening and communication skills.
• Strong computer literacy.
• Fluency in additional languages is a plus.
• Ability to adapt to new workflows.
• Typing speed of 70+ words per minute preferred.
• Self-starter with excellent attendance.
• Compliance with HIPAA and hospital policies.
• US work authorization required.
