Overview

Waystar is seeking a highly skilled data visualization engineer to join our Analytics team, focusing on designing, building, and maintaining impactful data visualizations and dashboards using Looker and LookML.

In Short

Design and develop Looker dashboards and data models.
Collaborate with data engineering teams for business reporting needs.
Gather requirements from product managers and stakeholders.
Optimize dashboard performance and model efficiency.
Implement and maintain semantic layers in Looker.
Conduct code reviews and maintain version control.
Develop ETL processes and support business analytics.
Advocate for data visualization standards and best practices.
Monitor and troubleshoot data issues within Looker.
Educate teams on Looker capabilities.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field.
2–5+ years of experience in business intelligence or data visualization.
Proficient in Looker and LookML.
Strong understanding of SQL and relational databases.
Experience with data modeling concepts.
Strong communication skills.
Familiarity with version control systems.
