Civil Structural Substation Engineer - Remote

Overview

We are looking for a Civil/Structural Substation Engineer to join our ICE Team to improve infrastructure in our Michigan offices. The candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, and five to ten years of experience with high voltage substation design.

In Short

• Responsible for structural design of electrical substation structures and foundations
• Prepare and review calculations following industry standard methods and principles
• Provide technical guidance and direction to junior engineers
• Assist in developing, maintaining and updating engineering standards
• Perform detailed quality reviews of project deliverables
• Attend and/or conduct client and project meetings
• Attend site visits as required
• Promote sales
• Review scope, budget and schedule for project tasks
• Maintain excellent client relations

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering is required
• 5-10 years of civil/structural experience with high voltage substation design is required
• Experience with Bentley ProjectWise, Microsoft Office, and Bluebeam Revu PDF Editor is required
• Strong knowledge of utility standards, AISC, ASCE, ACI, IBC, and an understanding of construction techniques is required
• Professional Engineering License is preferred
• Experience with STAAD, MathCAD, LPILE, RISA or equivalent engineering software is preferred
• Candidate must be willing to travel
