Structural Engineer (Substation Focus) - Remote

Overview

AECOM is seeking a Structural Engineer to support our Energy Practice’s Grid Modernization Initiative, offering flexibility to work remotely or from various locations.

In Short

• Lead and support engineering and design for substations and electrical infrastructure projects.
• Perform engineering calculations and develop analytical models for structural design.
• Collaborate with Project Engineers and Managers on workload forecasts and design schedules.
• Assist in developing task estimates for proposals.
• Contribute to business development strategies for substation infrastructure.
• Coordinate with design teams to complete engineering drawings.
• Create and implement group-specific standards.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations.
• Check and verify work prepared by peers.
• Occasional travel to AECOM locations and client sites.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• 4 years of relevant experience in transmission and substation projects.
• Professional engineering licensure or EIT preferred.
• 6+ years of experience preferred.
• Familiarity with industry codes and standards.
• Experience in multi-discipline projects and CAD teams.
• Proficiency in structural analysis and design software.
• Experience with various voltage levels in electrical systems.
• Experience working with remote teams.
• Experience on full EPC projects.
