Editor – Fiction & Non-Fiction - Remote

Overview

VIZ Media is seeking an experienced editor to join our Original Publishing team, responsible for copyediting and project managing prose projects, including novels and non-fiction.

In Short

• Copyedit and proofread original and translated manuscripts.
• Collaborate with in-house and freelance teams.
• Apply and maintain VIZ style guidelines.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Flag potential legal or sensitivity concerns.
• Ensure continuity in storylines and character development.
• Work with Publishing Director and Managing Editor.
• Participate in team meetings and brainstorms.

Requirements

• 5+ years editing/copyediting experience.
• Proven experience in an editorial role.
• Excellent editing and proofreading skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat.
• Strong project management abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• A passion for books and pop culture.
• Team player with collaboration skills.
• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
