Cybersecurity Engineer - Remote

Overview

VetsEZ is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to identify and minimize cybersecurity risks for the Department of Veterans Affairs, implementing policies and providing expert guidance on information system security.

In Short

• Expert communication and consultative support to the VA on system security certification & accreditation.
• Experience in Network and Software Development.
• Creation of Security-Specific documentation such as Incident Response and Disaster Recovery processes.
• Familiarity with NIST security controls and RMF compliance procedures.
• Support for ATO processes, including artifact creation and control implementation.
• Facilitate meetings and conduct analysis of authorization documents.
• Utilize eMASS tool for managing system records.
• Experience in IT and Cloud security and development.

Requirements

• 5 years of Information Security experience, including 3 years in Cybersecurity and Cloud Security.
• Lead security activities within project teams and document cybersecurity requirements.
• Perform security analyses and implement compensating controls.
• Conduct compliance evaluations on IT products.
• Utilize security evaluation tools like Tenable Nessus and Wireshark.
• Prepare and present security briefings and reports.
• Experience in FedRAMP cloud environment.
• Communicate with customers regarding security impacts of configuration changes.
