Assistant Controller - Remote

Overview

Vercel is looking for an Assistant Controller to develop and scale the accounting function from a late stage start-up to a company prepared to one day become a public company.

In Short

• Manage corporate accounting functions, including month-end close processes, consolidation, and financial reporting
• Supervise accounts payable, including vendor and cash management
• Provide oversight on international payroll operations across multiple countries
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings
• Partner with FP&A in developing financial models and scenarios
• Provide leadership and mentorship to accounting and finance team members
• Collaborate with external auditors during annual audits
• Participate in special projects and process improvement initiatives

Requirements

• 12+ years of accounting experience, including at least 3 years at a Big 4 accounting firm
• Experience working in SaaS and for companies operating in multiple countries
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• CPA designation and strong knowledge of US GAAP
• Passionate about building systems and process improvements
• Ability to lead projects independently
• Skilled at communicating technical accounting concepts
• Experience with NetSuite is a plus!
• Located in SF Bay Area
