Transmission and Distribution Engineering Lead - Remote

Overview

VPS is currently seeking a Transmission and Distribution Engineering Lead. As a Transmission and Distribution Engineering Lead, you will work with VPS power company clients, facilitating their design and deployment of electric power distribution systems that meet their long-term goals.

In Short

• Manage and coordinate multiple projects.
• Stamp and approve all designs, calculations, and judgements.
• Mentor and train new engineers.
• Design both overhead and underground lines.
• Initiate and support the required permitting process.
• Stay abreast of code requirements and technology.
• Assist public utilities in developing best practices.
• Specify required equipment and materials.
• Develop training programs for quality and growth.
• Review and create print load drawings.

Requirements

• Engineering degree from an ABET accredited university.
• Current Professional Engineers License.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience with electric utilities.
• Proven success with utility and construction personnel.
• Experience on multidisciplinary project teams.
• Leadership skills to supervise and mentor engineers.
• Experience using PLS-CAD and/or O-Calc.
• Experience with public utilities and infrastructure.
• Familiarity with civil drawings and construction plans.
• Valid driver’s license with good driving record.
