Data Platform Data Engineer - Remote

Overview

Vannevar Labs supports people on the front lines by building tools that deter and de-escalate conflict with America's adversaries. We build software and hardware for this mission that enable our customers to maintain maritime vigilance, disrupt misinformation, and collect non-traditional intelligence.

In Short

• Develop robust data pipelines and infrastructure, focusing on real-time processing, data integrity, and data security.
• Design systems and solutions for easy integration of new datasets into the data platform.
• Maintain scalability as data holdings grow.
• Improve operational health of systems through observability and tech debt reduction.
• Collaborate with Machine Learning Engineers to enhance dataset quality.
• Work closely with the Data Serving team for data availability across critical datastores.
• Participate in the team’s on-call process.
• 2+ years of experience in software development building distributed data systems.
• 2+ years of experience with real-time processing and streaming technologies.
• Must be a US resident or citizen.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in software development building distributed data systems.
• 2+ years of experience with real-time processing and streaming technologies, like Redis streams, Kafka, AWS Kinesis, or others.
• 2+ years of experience maintaining production data systems, including on-call and SRE support.
• You must be a US resident or citizen.
