Overview

The Post-Award Administrator provides professional support for post-award activities relating to grant and contract proposals and funding within a department or unit, ensuring compliance and financial management in an intensive customer service environment.

In Short

  • Serves as a primary account administrator for faculty.
  • Allocates, authorizes, monitors, and controls expenses.
  • Maintains, oversees, reconciles, and corrects errors in accounts.
  • Works with other administrators on the procurement process.
  • Advises and assists in relations with funding agencies.
  • Compares actual spending to original budget.
  • Handles straightforward post-award activities.
  • Prepares summaries of grants and effort allocations.
  • Coordinates with other departments regarding multi investigator grants.
  • Serves as department contact for audits and agency site visits.

Requirements

  • College or university degree in related field.
  • 2-5 years of work experience in a related job discipline.
  • Experience in accounting or grant administration.
  • Knowledge of budgets, ledgers, invoices, and fiscal reporting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and financial computing.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to research issues and propose solutions.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks within deadlines.
  • Knowledge of research methods and funding sources.
