Advanced Practice Provider, Urology - Remote

Overview

The Advanced Practice Provider in the Section of Urology works collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, using advanced clinical skills and knowledge to provide assessment, evaluation, testing, treatment, therapies, medical management, and other direct care to patients under the care of the University of Chicago Medicine.

In Short

• Provide surgical and clinical support in multiple locations.
• Assist in preparing for and expediting surgery in the OR.
• Provide preoperative and postoperative instructions.
• Maintain departmental policies and quality assurance standards.
• Round and provide clinical care for in-house patients.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary team members.
• Design patient education programs.
• Perform diagnostic strategies and therapeutic interventions.
• Participate in self and peer evaluations to improve quality of care.
• Demonstrate effective communication skills.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience.
• Current Illinois licensure/registration required.
• Advanced degree or equivalent from an accredited program preferred.
• Current APN or PA license in Illinois or eligibility to receive by start date.
• Certification from the National Commission for the Certification of Physician Assistants preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Ability to conduct physical examinations and health assessments.
• Demonstrated clinical competency and leadership skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently.
