Overview

The APRN/PA in Pediatric Critical Care at UAMS provides specialized healthcare services to pediatric patients, emphasizing teamwork and collaboration in a clinical setting.

In Short

  • Provide direct clinical services for pediatric patients.
  • Work fourteen 12-hour shifts per month, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Assess, diagnose, and treat health problems in pediatric patients.
  • Collaborate with physicians to formulate treatment plans.
  • Document patient care and communicate effectively with families.
  • Participate in staff education and training.
  • Utilize evidence-based practices in clinical decision-making.
  • Adhere to established protocols and standards of care.
  • Engage in quality improvement and research projects.
  • Maintain professional demeanor and respect in all interactions.

Requirements

  • Master’s in Nursing or accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • National Certification as an APRN or current Arkansas PA license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications preferred.
  • Experience in pediatric care is an advantage.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Commitment to ongoing education and training.
  • Legal authority to work in the United States.
  • Ability to work flexible hours as needed.
  • Willingness to participate in quality improvement initiatives.
