Overview

We are seeking a Shader / VFX Artist to join our team at Ubisoft, where you will bridge the gap between the art and development teams, ensuring the seamless integration of visual assets while optimizing performance and maintaining high artistic standards.

In Short

  • Collaborate with artists and developers for efficient integration of visual assets.
  • Develop and optimize shaders, lighting systems, and visual effects.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to meet aesthetic and technical requirements.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges related to asset integration.
  • Drive innovation by staying current with industry trends and best practices.
  • Implement tools and processes for asset creation efficiency.
  • Conduct art and technical reviews for visual quality and performance.
  • Report to the Technical Director, ensuring alignment with project goals.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Technical Artist in game development.
  • Experience shipping at least one game.
  • Strong knowledge of game engines (e.g., Unreal Engine, Unity) and art tools (e.g., Maya, Blender).
  • Expertise in shader development, lighting systems, and VFX.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills for artistic and technical challenges.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to mentor and support junior artists and developers.
  • Experience with mobile game development is desirable.
