Overview

Our team in Montreal is growing and we are looking for a Senior VFX Artist to help us lay the groundwork for our original project and set the technical and artistic benchmark in Unreal 5 for all our Effects.

In Short

Work closely with the Technical Art director, Lead Artists, and Art Director to RnD our effects, then bring them from conception to completion.
Produce your own unique assets textures (flipbook if necessary), shaders, particles systems...etc.
Setup your assets to be worked on by other artists or coworker.
Get together with all other disciplines involved in our cross-discipline approach to ensure we maintain the highest visual quality, optimization, and the best pipelines throughout the production.
Document and share your knowledge often and freely with other members of the team.
Work with the Lead Artist to suggest artistic and technical solutions to achieve quality or performance improvements.
Be a role model with the drive to help others succeed with a positive attitude.
Mentor less experienced Artists.

Requirements

Openness to try new things and explore different styles.
Portfolio that showcases your skills and passion for VFX.
Solid understanding of Special effect Art pipelines and techniques.
Entrepreneurial spirit that motivates you to move the needle forward in a fresh studio and the drive to do things better.
5+ years of experience in creating high quality Realtime VFX in game engine.
Strong knowledge of industry standard tools and workflows, such as 3ds Max/Maya, Photoshop, Embergen, Houdini.
Strong understanding of PBR rendering and its interplay with real time lighting.
Experience using Unreal in game development.
Shipped (stylized) game, Substance Knowledge, and Hand drawn 2D animation experience is a plus.
