Supplier Quality Engineer Consultant - QMS - Remote

Overview

TRIGO is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer / Quality Systems Consultant for a 1099 contract position. This role is primarily remote, with occasional onsite visits required, so candidates should be reasonably local and able to travel to supplier sites as needed.

• Review and assess Quality Management Systems (QMS) for compliance.
• Conduct PPAP reviews and support supplier quality readiness.
• Evaluate supplier performance, including metrics and complaint history.
• Perform remote and occasional onsite audits of supplier processes.
• Identify gaps and work with suppliers to develop corrective action plans.
• Verify effectiveness of corrective actions.
• Prepare reports and communicate findings to stakeholders.
• Serve as a key point of contact between TRIGO and supplier teams.

Requirements

• Strong background in Quality Engineering and supplier quality.
• Hands-on experience working within QMS environments.
• Ability to review PPAPs and assess supplier readiness.
• Comfortable working independently in a remote setting.
• Willingness to travel onsite when needed.
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in Automotive, Aerospace, Heavy Transportation, or Defense industries preferred.
• Familiarity with IATF 16949, VDA 6.3, APQP, PPAP, and Core Tools.
• Auditor certification (IATF 16949 or VDA 6.3) preferred.
• Six Sigma certification preferred.
