Overview

The Associate Claim Counsel for Design Professional Liability is responsible for managing claims related to design professionals, providing legal advice, and ensuring superior customer service through thorough investigation and analysis.

In Short

  • Analyze and resolve BSI claims with supervision.
  • Prepare and present reports on claims and financial exposure.
  • Manage outside counsel and litigation budgets.
  • Communicate significant claim exposures to underwriting.
  • Travel for mediations and claim conferences.
  • Negotiate settlements and review agreements.
  • Support underwriting marketing efforts and risk seminars.
  • Monitor marketplace conditions and draft reference materials.
  • Obtain necessary adjusters’ licenses.
  • Perform other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • 1-5 years of legal or claims handling experience.
  • Strong conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Time management and attention to detail.
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships.
  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • Juris Doctorate Degree required.
  • Licensed to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.
