Senior Software Engineer, Simulation Engineering - Remote

Overview

Voleon is a technology company that applies state-of-the-art machine learning techniques to real-world problems in finance. As a Senior Software Engineer on our Simulation and Portfolio Engineering team, you will contribute to our simulator, which is used across the company to evaluate and back-test research ideas.

In Short

• Contribute to the simulator used for evaluating and back-testing research ideas.
• Work with the Product Owner to design and deliver large scale projects.
• Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders on simulation platform requirements.
• Define the team's technical roadmap and participate in mentorship.
• Engage in diverse software development work, including algorithm development.
• Lead complex projects from start to finish, gathering requirements and designing software.
• Enhance the simulator code-base for back-testing across global markets.
• Build and optimize algorithms for back-testing pipelines.
• Develop tooling for analyzing trading performance.
• Mentor and develop other engineers on the team.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience.
• Proven track record in software design and implementation.
• Hands-on experience in a Linux/UNIX environment.
• Excellent communication and project management skills.
• Experience mentoring engineers and leading technical direction.
• Familiarity with optimization, algorithms, and statistics.
• Experience with performance optimization on large code-bases.
• Exposure to modern Python data science tooling.
• Computer Science degree or equivalent experience.
