Collateral Underwriter - Remote

Overview

The Federal Savings Bank is seeking a Collateral Underwriter to join our Appraisal Management department, playing a key role in reviewing and evaluating appraisals to confirm their value.

In Short

• Review and evaluate appraisals for value confirmation.
• Manage a daily pipeline of appraisals.
• Provide opinions on appraisal quality and justification.
• Ensure compliance with appraisal guidelines.
• Utilize Fannie Mae's Collateral Underwriter for assessments.
• Maintain knowledge of FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, and VA guidelines.
• Address alerts from CU and LCA scores.
• Work flexible hours, including evenings as needed.
• Collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Participate in ongoing training opportunities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent mortgage experience.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in collateral or credit underwriting.
• Proficiency in Encompass is required.
• Strong attention to detail and multitasking abilities.
• Favorable credit history and background check.
• Knowledge of appraisal guidelines and AIR requirements.
• SAR and/or DE experience is preferred.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Flexible scheduling during peak periods.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
