Tax Accountant - Remote

Overview

As a Tax Accountant, you will support the Tax Manager in day-to-day tax-related and financial activities, working closely with the finance team to assist in tax reporting, compliance, and related functions.

In Short

• Prepare tax returns including VAT, OSS VAT, GST/HST, SST and sales tax returns for UK group and overseas entities.
• Prepare Balance Sheet reconciliations for direct and indirect tax liabilities and VAT turnover reconciliations.
• Assist with tax filings and tax payments in line with deadlines.
• Manage monthly tax submissions in AvaTax and maintain an up-to-date ECM database.
• Support the Tax Manager in managing tax obligations including PSA and STBV reporting.
• Coordinate and support preparation of R&D claims and Transfer Pricing documentation.
• Assist with external and internal audit processes.
• Contribute to building team capability, including mentoring and managing future direct reports.
• Stay updated on industry trends and tax regulations.
• Maintain a high level of ethical standards and handle sensitive tax information responsibly.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Tax Accountant or in a similar tax-related role.
• Strong interest in direct/indirect taxes.
• Good understanding of key tax areas.
• Familiarity with NetSuite or similar ERP systems.
• Strong time management skills and ability to stay calm under pressure.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail and a proactive approach.
• Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.
• Finance/Tax qualification or degree in accounting is desirable.
• Experience within a fast-paced, fast-growth Tech environment is a plus.
