Medical Billing Specialist - Remote

Overview

Tareen Dermatology is seeking a detail-oriented Medical Billing Specialist to support accurate billing, claims processing, and patient account management across our growing dermatology practice. This role plays a vital part in ensuring timely reimbursement and clear communication with patients, providers, and payers.

In Short

• Primarily remote position with occasional on-site meetings.
• Responsible for reviewing visit coding and processing claims.
• Manage patient accounts and ensure timely reimbursement.
• Educate patients on insurance and claims questions.
• Utilize collection agencies for delinquent accounts.
• Participate in educational opportunities to update job knowledge.
• Follow HIPAA and OSHA policies.
• Strong communication and organizational skills required.
• Experience in a medical office preferred.
• Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple priorities.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 1-2 years of experience in a business office setting required.
• Previous dermatology experience preferred.
• Proficient in typing, spelling, punctuation, and grammar.
• Strong computer skills and ability to navigate EHR systems.
• Ability to communicate calmly and clearly with patients.
• Experience with patient registration and collecting payments preferred.
• Ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Detail-oriented and able to follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
