Senior Software Engineer, Financial Infrastructure - Remote

Overview

We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join a correctness-critical engineering function responsible for money movement, ledgering, reconciliation, and core financial infrastructure. This is a deeply technical role working on systems where precision, reliability, and sound engineering judgment are essential.

In Short

• Design and implement distributed systems for money movement and banking integrations.
• Develop reliable workflows in systems where financial correctness is mission-critical.
• Contribute across architecture, design, coding, testing, and operational support.
• Set engineering standards for correctness, reliability, and data integrity.
• Lead architectural decisions across the FinInfra domain.
• Review designs and code for high quality and correctness.
• Diagnose and solve complex production issues in high-severity environments.
• Build robust monitoring and alerting for critical financial systems.
• Participate in on-call rotations focusing on prevention and resilience.
• Contribute to incident analysis for stronger systems.

Requirements

• Strong experience building distributed systems.
• Deep backend engineering fundamentals using a modern language (Python is a plus).
• Proven experience with correctness-critical or high-reliability systems.
• Preferred experience with financial infrastructure like ACH and ledgering systems.
• Strong command of ACID and consistency models.
• Ability to reason about system behaviour under failure.
