Mr D, a 100% subsidiary of takealot.com, is looking for a talented, motivated and results-oriented Senior DevOps Engineer. This position plays a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of our cloud infrastructure, utilizing cutting-edge technologies and industry best practices.

In Short

• Design, implement, and manage scalable and resilient infrastructure using AWS services.
• Deploy, manage, and scale applications in Kubernetes.
• Set up and maintain comprehensive monitoring using Grafana Cloud and OpenTelemetry.
• Automate deployments with robust CI/CD pipelines.
• Utilize tools for log analysis and troubleshooting.
• Develop scripts and tools using Python and Golang.
• Manage and optimize data workflows across databases.
• Work with Kafka for real-time data processing.
• Participate in on-call rotations for incident management.
• Collaborate in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma in relevant fields.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in a software/technology environment.
• Deep understanding of AWS services and cloud architecture.
• Hands-on experience in deploying and managing Kubernetes clusters.
• Proficiency in Python and Golang for automation.
• Experience with observability tools like Grafana and OpenTelemetry.
• Knowledge of database technologies like OpenSearch and PostgreSQL.
• Practical experience with Kafka for data stream processing.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
