Overview

Symmetrio is recruiting for their client, a leading global medical device company, a medical physicist to work on site at multiple locations in the US. This position will work in collaboration with the cancer care leadership to ensure high quality and safe interpretation, delivery, operation, and monitoring of radiation safety policies, procedures, standards, and equipment in a radiation oncology department. Responsible for ensuring delivery of high-quality radiation therapy while providing staff with the proper education and training and oversight to minimize radiation exposure.

In Short

  • Calibration of dose meters and radiation equipment.
  • Preparation of data for treatment planning systems.
  • Ensures compliance with Federal, State and organizational regulations for radiation safety.
  • Participates in development of organizational Performance Improvement activities.
  • Assists in Acceptance testing and commissioning of new machines.
  • Performs individual treatment planning and dosimetry calculations.
  • Provides physics consultation to radiation oncology personnel.
  • Collaborates with information services department for software management.
  • Assists in planning and shielding calculations for new facilities.
  • Participates in clinical education and competency evaluations.

Requirements

  • Experience in medical physics and radiation safety.
  • Strong knowledge of dosimetry and treatment planning.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with healthcare teams.
  • Excellent communication and training skills.
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance in radiation oncology.
