Overview

The Buyer is responsible for the procurement of manufacturing materials and services, requiring close collaboration with Engineering and Production Planning to ensure supplier execution aligns with division operations.

In Short

Develop and manage supplier relationships.
Negotiate procurement of commodities and services.
Complete comprehensive purchase contracts.
Analyze industry conditions affecting design and cost.
Acquire knowledge of supplier qualifications.
Evaluate procurement transactions for cost improvement.
Maintain knowledge of technical requirements.
Provide management with market forecasts and trends.
Assist in training Purchasing personnel.

Requirements

Knowledge of purchasing principles in a manufacturing environment.
B.S. Degree and five years’ experience in Purchasing or related field.
C.P.M. or C.P.S.M. certification is a plus.
Highly proficient in spoken and written English.
Technology adept, including advanced Excel and ERP systems.
