Commissioning Engineer - Remote

Overview

The Commissioning Engineer plays a crucial role in implementing automated storage solutions for customers, ensuring seamless integration with warehouse operations.

In Short

• Commission automated storage systems for customer warehouses.
• Interface with Warehouse Control Systems and IT systems.
• Manage the complete commissioning process from setup to Go Live.
• Configure PLC software and conduct live testing.
• Work on electrical, mechanical, and safety systems.
• Travel to various customer sites across the USA and Canada.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting during commissioning.
• Create reports and train customer staff on system operation.
• Identify technical challenges and recommend optimizations.
• Flexible work schedule with occasional weekend/evening work.

Requirements

• Experience in installing/commissioning automated systems.
• Strong knowledge of electromechanical and robotic systems.
• Experience with PLC programming and conveyor systems preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechatronics or related field).
• Affinity with programming languages is a plus.
• Willingness to travel extensively (90% travel average).
• Live in commutable distance to Romeoville, IL or Indianapolis, IN.
• Ability to collaborate with international teams.
• Flexibility in work hours based on project needs.
• Strong problem-solving skills and technical expertise.
