Overview

The Senior Financial Consultant performs analytical, technical, and administrative duties within the financial reporting process, specifically related to the general ledger and other financial activities. The position involves providing detailed and complex analyses of financial reports and records for Wayne County Government.

In Short

• Plans, organizes, directs, and controls work activities.
• Participates in finance system implementation projects.
• Performs general accounting activities in the general ledger.
• Reviews, approves, and posts journal entries.
• Prepares various Prepared by Client Schedules (PBC) during the Audit period.
• Assists with the preparation of various PBCs for auditors.
• Supports financial decision-making through data analysis.
• Works with internal and external auditors.
• Prepares monthly journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Researches technical accounting issues.

Requirements

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
• Advanced knowledge of bookkeeping processes and GAAP.
