Overview

The HIM Coding Coordinator at St. Charles Health System is responsible for assisting in the day-to-day operations of the health information management department, ensuring efficient workflows and compliance with regulatory standards.

• Coordinate staffing schedules and operations for coding staff.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED; AHIMA accredited program graduate preferred.
• Must possess valid RHIT certification or similar credentials.
• Three years coding experience in an acute care setting.
• Knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and related coding standards.
• Ability to lead and mentor effectively.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Intermediate computer skills, particularly in electronic health records.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Must maintain required educational credits through AHIMA or AAPC.
