SFI is seeking a Subject Matter Expert in software development to join our team supporting the Federal Agency in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area. The candidate will be a key member of a team that works on software design, development, debugging, testing and implementation of software applications to manage the Census Bureau’s address database and associated applications in the AWS cloud environment.

In Short

Lead the development of software solutions in the AWS cloud.
Lead the analysis, data modeling, technical and functional design of software project through the software development life cycle (SDLC).
Perform data analysis on complex data structures and provide solutions to complex problems.
Assist in creation of implementation plans and procedures to satisfy stakeholder requirements and acceptance criteria.
Perform quality assurance and control on developed software.
Support Application and Database related problems and deployments.
Design, develop, enhance, debug, and implement cloud application software.
Research, test, build, and coordinate the conversion and/or integration of new products based on client requirements.
Develop and design reports as requested by the customer.
Prepare presentations highlighting solutions and application road maps.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or equivalent.
10 years’ experience in software development projects.
3+ Experience with AWS cloud services, containerization technologies and orchestration tools.
3+ years’ experience with relational databases, SQL, and/or PostgreSQL.
3+ years’ experience building backend services and/or Web APIs.
3+ years' experience in Python programming.
Strong experience with Cloud microservices, AWS serverless products such as Lambda, Step Functions, API Gateway, and queuing/messaging services.
Highly analytical, possessing critical and creative thinking skills.
Strong interpersonal skills to maintain effective working relationships with team and customers.
Ability to manage multiple concurrent software development projects simultaneously.
