Overview

The Southern Poverty Law Center’s Democracy - Voting Rights Litigation Team works across the Deep South to engage and mobilize voters, restore voting rights, and challenge discriminatory voting practices.

In Short

• Litigate cases in state and federal courts.
• Lead advocacy and litigation efforts.
• Identify new cases and litigation strategies.
• Mentor and train legal staff and interns.
• Collaborate across departments to implement goals.
• Engage in public speaking on voting rights issues.
• Conduct legal research and factual investigations.
• Work with community organizations to promote voting rights.
• Maintain alignment with SPLC's mission and values.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• At least one year of federal court civil litigation experience for Staff Attorney I-II.
• At least six years of experience for Senior Staff Attorney I-IV.
• Membership in good standing of a state bar.
• J.D. degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
