RemoteOtterRemoteOtterThe State Community Organizer will work closely with colleagues in the SPLC state team/Impact Strategy Group to engage community members in advancing the Center’s mission, vision, and impact goals. The Organizer will collaborate with ally organizations and activists, working to build the power of community members. Working at local, state, and federal levels, the Organizer will lead outreach efforts to recruit and support a community-based network engaged in efforts aligned with SPLC's strategic framework.
The Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to fighting hate and bigotry and seeking justice for the most vulnerable members of society. With a focus on reducing the incarceration of Black and Brown individuals in the Deep South, the SPLC's Criminal Legal System Reform team works to challenge systemic inequities and advocate for decriminalization and decarceration. The organization engages in various legal efforts, including civil rights litigation, community advocacy, and collaboration with grassroots organizations to promote justice, equity, and inclusion. The SPLC is committed to fostering an anti-racist work culture and aligning its mission with the principles of justice and diversity.
