Literacy Tutor - Reading Partners (Remote Work Study)

Overview

Southern New Hampshire University is seeking student employees to fill the role of Literacy Tutor for our partner organization Reading Partners, providing individualized reading support to elementary students.

In Short

• Work one-on-one with elementary students in reading.
• Flexible remote work options available across multiple states.
• No teaching experience required; training provided.
• Support students' social emotional learning while tutoring.
• Conduct student assessments as part of the program.
• Commit to a flexible schedule of 5-20 hours per week.
• Compensation ranges from $12.00 to $15.00 per hour.
• Sessions run Monday through Friday during school hours.

• Program dates from September/October to May/June.

Requirements

• Current enrollment in classes at Southern New Hampshire University.
• Must be part of a financial aid work study program.
• Background check required, including potential fingerprinting.
• Ability to commit to the scheduled tutoring hours.
• Responsive to students’ learning needs and experiences.
• Ability to use affirming language and engage with diverse texts.
• Patience and reliability while working with young learners.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Willingness to learn and grow in mentorship skills.
