Senior Accountant (6-Month Contract) - Remote

Overview

SOCi, the CoMarketing Cloud for Multi-Location Enterprises, is currently looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to be a part of our Finance team. This individual will play a critical role in accounting for some complex accounting functions and supporting the month and year-end close processes. The ideal candidate is proactive, analytical, and process-oriented, with a strong understanding of payroll, commissions, and financial reporting. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to high-impact projects, streamline operations, and support the implementation of new systems and processes.

In Short

• Complete accounting close tasks related to assigned functions, including Payroll, Benefits, Bonuses, Commissions and related ASC 340 Contract Assets.
• Prepare and reconcile assigned GL accounts.
• Analyze accounts and prepare fluctuation analyses and financial statement analytics.
• Accurately process contractor payroll.
• Partner with HR and other internal teams to validate employee data.
• Support accounting projects, collaborating across departments.
• Identify and document areas for automation and operational efficiencies.
• Support implementation efforts for new systems.
• Assist with year-end audit preparation.
• Ad hoc assignments as requested.

Requirements

• 5+ years of progressive experience in general accounting, preferably in a SaaS or tech environment.
• Expertise in payroll and benefits accounting.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, including ASC 340.
• Demonstrated success completing full-cycle month-end close processes.
• Advanced proficiency with Excel and experience with major ERP systems.
• Proven ability to analyze financial data and implement solutions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Willing to adapt to changes in job description.
