Overview

Smalls is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Co-Manufacturing Manager to oversee and manage relationships with up to three co-manufacturers producing a diverse range of pet food products, including fresh cat food meals, freeze-dried products, and broths. This role is critical to ensuring product quality, cost efficiency, and on-time fulfillment while maintaining strong cross-functional collaboration with supply chain, procurement, and other internal teams.

In Short

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for up to three co-manufacturers.
  • Oversee production processes to ensure quality and compliance.
  • Conduct regular site visits and audits.
  • Analyze cost structures for savings opportunities.
  • Ensure accurate reporting of production costs.
  • Develop and manage production schedules.
  • Support quality issue resolution with partners.
  • Collaborate with internal teams on production goals.
  • Travel up to three times per quarter.
  • Work in fast-paced environments with high attention to detail.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in manufacturing or co-manufacturing management.
  • Strong understanding of product costing and financial management.
  • Ability to manage complex production schedules.
  • Proficient in ERP systems and Microsoft Suite.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience in managing perishable products is a plus.
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Empathetic communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders effectively.
