Overview

The Sierra Club is seeking a Social Media Intern to assist in amplifying their environmental communications and grassroots mobilization efforts in Florida.

In Short

• Work with the Communications Director to enhance social media presence.
• Collect materials for social media use.
• Create digital communication materials including graphics and videos.
• Draft and schedule social media posts.
• Monitor social media trends and brainstorm content ideas.
• Support SCFL volunteers with social media guidance.
• Ideal candidates should have strong communication and design skills.
• Commitment to environmental protection and grassroots organizing is essential.
• Intern must be at least 18 years of age.
• Portfolio samples are appreciated if available.

Requirements

• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Graphic and video design skills (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite).
• Knowledge of social media platforms and best practices.
• Research skills.
• Proficiency in Google Workspace or Microsoft Office.
• Good time-management skills.
• Commitment to understanding systems of oppression.
• Ability to see mistakes as opportunities for growth.
• Constructive approach with a can-do attitude.
• Intern must be at least 18 years of age.
