Principal DevOps Engineer - Remote

Overview

As a member of the ShipBob Team, you will lead our DevOps initiatives, drive automation, and optimize a global cloud infrastructure.

In Short

• Design robust, scalable, highly available global cloud architectures.
• Extensive hands-on experience with Azure, Kubernetes, Helm, and Docker.
• Oversee the implementation and optimization of CI/CD pipelines.
• Solid understanding of networking, security, and compliance in cloud environments.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning with Terraform, Ansible, or similar tools.
• Establish best practices for observability and monitoring.
• Experience with scripting and automation (Python, Bash, Go).
• Champion collaboration across teams to improve developer experience.
• Background in compliance-heavy industries.
• Coach and mentor team members on best practices in DevOps.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master’s preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in DevOps, with 5 years in an architecture role.
• Extensive experience with Microsoft Azure Stack and Azure Kubernetes Service.
• Experience in managing transitions from monolithic to scalable architectures.
• Excellent understanding of CI/CD pipelines and IaC tools.
• Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of networking, security, and compliance in cloud environments.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
