Project Forester - Remote

Overview

The Project Forester will develop forest carbon offset projects and conservation markets, including validation and verification of agricultural, forestry, and other land use projects.

• Assist with and conduct validations and verifications of forest carbon offset projects.
• Assess and analyze forest inventories to verify projects.
• Quantify attributes from forest inventory data.
• Establish biomass and carbon stocking levels.
• Develop forest management and reforestation plans.
• Monitor compliance with regulations and requirements.
• Determine optimal timber harvesting methods.
• Assess deforested lands for reclamation.
• Implement wildlife habitat conservation projects.
• Conduct geospatial analysis and produce maps.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in forestry or forest management.
• Experience with timber cruises.
• Experience with forest growth and yield models.
• Knowledge of forest management practices.
• Understanding of environmental laws and regulations.
• Ability to manage multiple projects.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
