Principal Observability Architect - Remote

Overview

We are seeking a Principal Observability Architect to lead the strategic architecture, evolution, and operationalization of a modern, multi-tenant Observability Platform-as-a-Service (OPaaS) tailored for a hybrid on-prem and cloud-native SaaS product.

• Lead architecture and roadmap for a multi-region, multi-cloud, multi-tenant observability platform.
• Design and implement real-time telemetry ingestion pipelines.
• Ensure observability systems are cloud-native and container-aware.
• Standardize OpenTelemetry instrumentation across all services.
• Leverage AI/ML for real-time anomaly detection.
• Integrate observability into ITSM and incident response systems.
• Drive internal R&D around OpenTelemetry and AI in observability.
• Lead cross-functional collaboration with SRE, Platform, Security, and Engineering teams.
• Provide self-service tools and training to enable developer teams.
• Architect hot and cold telemetry storage pipelines.

Requirements

• 10+ years in DevOps, SRE, or Observability roles.
• Proven experience designing near real-time observability systems.
• Deep expertise in OpenTelemetry.
• Experience integrating observability in Kubernetes and serverless ecosystems.
• Hands-on with telemetry data pipelines using Cribl and Prometheus.
• Familiarity with AI/ML for observability.
• Working knowledge of data privacy and compliance practices.
