Senior Quality Engineer - Remote

In Short

• Build and maintain automated tests for APIs, distributed systems, and data pipelines.
• Collaborate with developers to ensure testability is embedded in the design and implementation of new features.
• Contribute to strategies for system integration, performance, and load testing.
• Develop observable systems by implementing robust logging, monitoring, and alerting practices.
• Drive usage of metrics, logging, and tracing to quickly identify and resolve issues.
• Improve continuous integration (CI) pipelines to detect issues earlier in the development lifecycle.
• Write and maintain clean, modular, type-annotated Python code for test and tooling infrastructure.

Requirements

• Proven experience testing RESTful APIs with JSON payloads.
• Solid understanding of distributed systems, eventual consistency, and service interdependencies.
• Working knowledge of asynchronous programming patterns (e.g., asyncio, threading, multiprocessing, Celery).
• Proficiency in writing and reviewing unit tests using Pytest.
• Comfortable writing and understanding basic SQL queries.
• Basic understanding of networking concepts including TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, and subnetting.
• Experience working in cloud environments such as AWS, GCP, or Oracle Cloud (OCI).
